This weekend I’m knocking on doors in Malmo Plains, where my wife Sarah and I have been lucky to own a lovely bungalow for the last two years.

I’ve been knocking on doors all over Ward 5 since May, but I wanted to save my home neighbourhood until closer to the election, and I’m glad I did!

It seems that word has spread over fences and across back lanes that I’m running, and support feels very strong. Neighbours expressed excitement that I have familiarity with the particular pressures facing mature areas.

People are also concerned about the sustainability of our city in general, and responded well to my vision for a more efficient and more environmentally responsible Edmonton.
