State of the City 2014

I had the honour of delivering my first State of the City speech today before 2,300 guests of the Chamber of Commerce. The sold-out room had an incredible energy and reflected a lot of the spirit we’re all feeling in Edmonton right now. I spoke on some key themes including innovation, poverty reduction, the greater Edmonton Region, LRT expansion, the need for a Big City Charter and Edmonton’s role in hosting the final Truth and Reconciliation event later this month. My thanks to my fellow City Councillors for attending and Premier Redford, Ministers Horner, Hancock and Hughes for taking the time to hear what matters to our city.

Here is a video of today’s remarks – skip forward to 2:29:54 for Chamber Chair Simon O’Byrne’s opening remarks.
